President John Magufuli
Dar es Salaam. Security was beefed up at the offices of the Prevention and Combating of Corruption Bureau (PCCB) at Upanga in Dar es Salaam and surrounding areas were cordoned off as President John Magufuli paid an impromptu visit Monday morning.
At 9:17am, a convoy of 10 vehicles entered the offices’ compound, according to The Citizenreporter at the site.
The purpose of the visit was not immediately known but it comes a few days after President Magufuli expressed his dissatisfaction on the slow progress of investigations of grand corruption cases.
Swearing in Brigadier General John Mbungo as deputy director of PCCB last Thursday President Magufuli said he wanted to see more culprits of grand corruption in jail.
